BalbachDamast South Africa was started by Andrew Bell and Anthony Topham in 2017 with the idea of supporting the local knifemaking and jewelry industry by importing high-quality German manufactured materials at a reasonable price point.
Today we are the offical distributors for Balbachdamast Germany in Southern Africa and import a range of specialty, stainless (Inox and Austinite), non-stainless (carbon) damascus knife making steels along with specialty Titanium alloys and mokume-gane materials.

DSC® INOX / INOX-S
DSC® Inox is a stainless martensitic damascus steel produced using the traditional fire-welding process and is ideally suited for industrial production use.
DSC® TITAN
DSC® Titan is the ideal material for high-quality products from numerous industries due to its corrosion resistance, high strength, lightweight, and the variety of damascus patterns.
DSC® ZITAN
DSC® Zitan is the ideal material for high-quality products from numerous industries due to its corrosion resistance, high strength, light weight and the variety of damascus patterns.
DSC® CARBON
DSC® Carbon is a non-stainless Damascus, which is made of two proven performance steels in the fire-welding method and usually consists of 160 layers.
